All of these elements come together to make a whole that is exciting, challenging, and most importantly, fun. This might sound easy, but, in addition to dealing with a lot of other vehicles (don't forget, the TX can also control other machines), you must find shortcuts in order to keep up.

In these scenes, you must chase a vehicle while trying to shoot it in a strategic part, or simply destroy it. The degree of diffuculty runs the gamut from easy to nearly impossible, but, thankfully, you'll always be able to retry any stage.įinally, there are the driving and shooting sequences that make up most of the game. Most of the missions seem to involve taking out a few heavy duty vehicles while swatting away the smaller crafts that circle them (and you). There are a variety of vehicles you'll hop into, from jeeps with turret mounted cannons in the back to a helicopter with a bad-ass gatling gun. These scenes were a lot like the typical rail shooters you see in most games, as the computer controls your vehicle and you just have to focus on blasting anything that moves. In a few sequences, Arnie rides shotgun (literally) as you ride along, blasting assorted flying enemies. In a nice touch, if you blast a Terminator to pieces, the torso of the fallen robot will crawl after you until a few well placed bullets shut it down for good. I also heard that you can rip the power cells out of your opponents, then use them as makeshift grenades, although I never seemed to be able to do that. After picking up an object, you can use it to bash your opponents to pieces, throw it as a projectile, or use it as a shield. There are a lot of objects that you can pick up while walking across the battlefield, from street signs to the endoskeletons of fellow Terminators. Thankfully, however, the ground combat sequences are not all about aiming and firing repeatedly.
